I did hear on the news some houses were severely damaged in Taylorville.  I believe the prison is about 3 miles east of town. No mention of damage at the prison.  Google Taylorville, IL news, some info on daily paper site.

The major damage is on the opposite side of town - it was an F4 tornado and the town is pretty much closed down now. We visit often and so very sad for all those affected.

We visited last weekend and its so sad to see the destruction. Cleanup efforts though are going strong.

I live about 100 miles away and our area was hit by a tornado 5 years ago with many homes destroyed. It really took 3 years to recover: to rebuild houses, infrastructure, etc.
