I have never been to a prison ever, and I am going to visit a friend at East Moline. I am the kind of person that needs to know exactly what I'm doing so I don't overwhelm myself. I am not talking all the rules and regs I have been throught that on IDOC and these forums. I am talking little details like

1) When you pull in do you go through a gate house? Where do you park? How does that work?
2) When you go in the building is there a desk right as soon as you go in and I just tell them I am visiting?

the rest has pretty much been covered in these forums but as far as getting up to and into the jail I need details lol!!! Very nervous.

Hi there - I'm actually from East Moline and EMCC used to be the state mental hospital. lol

Anyway, its located on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River.  You go up a hill, past the gatehouse and the parking lot is located farther up the road.  Then, you walk down the hill to what looks like a bus stop.  You wait there until the gate guard calls you then you go on up and get processed in.
