Done and shared. It won't let me open it (my phone, not a issue with the link). Does it at all support someone with a class X felony? My hunny has a class x TIS 100% and we are praying for some laws to pass to bring him home sooner:(

It doesn't seem to delineate out which Class X crimes this would affect.

My son is also in on a Class X 85% sentence.

I'm hoping it makesna difference to all. Everyone deserves a second chance, especially after so many years. Positive thoughts to these reforms!

I voiced my opinion!! I hope that he signs it soon too! It is my understanding that since it passed both houses, even if he doesn't sign it, it will pass after 60 days anyway.

This still won't give a full 180 days SSC to all inmates   :

Supplemental credits can be earned by an inmate by complying with the rules of the institution, and rendering
service to the institution, community, or State. Eligibility requirements include, but are not limited to, review of
any validated risk assessment or other evaluations, a history of forcible felonies, and the offender’s disciplinary
history. Under current law, offenders admitted for certain enumerated offenses which involve crimes against
people are eligible for 90 days of supplemental credits.

The proposal allows up to 180 days of this kind of credit for the offenses currently limited to 90 days (partially newly eligible). An average of 38 inmates admitted to prison would have been eligible for an additional 90 days of supplemental sentence credit.

3 An additional 1,849 admissions each year would be fully newly eligible for the 180 supplemental sentence credits. Of those fully
newly eligible, almost 80% are for crimes classified as forcible felonies, a factor that the IDOC Director must consider before awarding credits.

I'm just wrapping my head around this new life and I feel like I'm having a blonde moment .. so any help would be appreciated - thanks! For the subject, would I put Prison Reform? And what exactly should I type in the comment section?

I'm very confused my all the legal words as well, so I just hope & pray they do something with the TIS, that's all I really understand. Plus  my son said he will let me know when something good happens that effects him, then I'll know. 😏

BossPink, Im in the same boat as you.  My LO has a class X 50% (I believe).....Im not sure if this will apply to him at all.  Im wondering does he qualify for at least the 90 days SSC?  I feel so lost and confused but it just may be my anxiety because he only has 38 more months.

From what I gather class x offenders get 44% of the 180 days I think which should be 79 days but i may be wrong

Yes, thank you. Looks like even if it passes, my hubby still wouldn't be allowed the sentence credit .

I called Springfield today, it was sent to the governor on 1/14. He has 60 days from that date to sign or veto it. If he dkes not, it automatically becomes a bill.
