Hi..I'm hoping someone can help me out. My guy has just found out he's being transferred to Illinois river, but I can't seem to find out much info..I've heard they don't have mp3 players, but are they getting them anytime soon? He would like to know what tv channels are available and what are the vocational/job possibilities like? and what is the general environment of the prison like.
Thank you.. first transfer and I'm clueless!

They have had the MP3 Players onsite for a long time.  They were supposed to be distributed August/September however the Warden put it on hold.  There are also new phones supposed to be put in,but no progress for months.  There are supposed to be 2 day rooms per 24 hours but they are only getting 1, due to the 'new phones'  How convenient!  This is not the worst place but they are exceptionally good at giving the inmates the very bare minimum of what they should be getting in medium security.

They do have video visits and emails at the kiosks on the unit through GTL.
Forget about yesterday, enjoy today and let tomorrow worry about itself!
