Crossroads ATC to Peoria work release transfer
« on: July 02, 2016, 10:32:20 AM »
Has anyone transferred, or know someone who has transferred from one work release center to another?  My lo is at Crossroads and he put in a transfer to Peoria a week ago to be closer to home.  He has been there just over 6 months.  The Crossroads ppl told him that they didn't see any reason why he wouldn't transfer bc he's never had any disciplinary issues, has a fulltime job, etc.  They just weren't sure how long it would take for the transfer to take place.  Thanks for the input.

IDOC takes their time with paperwork etc and a bed would have to open up at the new WR in Peoria which could take time, so no telling how long it could take, hope it goes smoothly and fast for him.

Thank you! He's hoping for the SSC goodtime credit, but he's not holding his breath! He has 10 months left, and his case manager put him in for it.  He has seen quite a few people get it in the time that he's been there.  When he got there they were letting a lot of people out on ankle monitors, but that stopped when they made the new computer system for the inmate records (Inmate 360?).  Not sure if or when that'll start back up, but I'm hoping for the best!

I hope it all goes well for him, but there could be a wait time to get in.  There are only so many beds in the work release facilities and about 10X more guys that want to get into them.  They can deny them very easily for no reason, but they can apply again in six months if rejected the first time.

If he qualifies for home release, they will consider him,not many guys do though because of their convictions.
