Pre-sentence Investigation
« on: September 23, 2015, 10:39:00 PM »
I think I understand the point of the PSI, but I am not sure what the probation officer is supposed to do or ask. My man said his probation officer came and interviewed him, but she didn't seem to ask all the questions she was supposed to ask? I don't know exactly what this means, though.

Also, his medical issues play a role in this, correct? Would it be helpful for me to send things to his PO for the PSI? Or is that overstepping some line?

I think what I understand is the big picture... I get the point of it and I get why they do it and what they are supposed to be finding out, but I want to know the details. What makes a difference? How are they supposed to gather the information? Is it OK for me to write a letter or send information or ???

Thanks for any information about this! I feel like I am really close to figuring out what this PSI thing is all about. :)
