Son just got transferred to Danville after three years in Pinckneyville. Does it take long for his money on books to transfer? Does anyone have any info about Danville like visiting what is life like in general there

It could take a few weeks for the money to get straightened out.

Please go to the top search bar on the front page of IPT and type in Danville, all the information will come up.  Things don't change that much at these prisons and if anyone else has info hopefully they will post back to you.

My friend is there, he reallys likes it (not that you can like much of any prison) but says by far is the best, after being in Mt. Sterling and Menard. They have alot of activities for them to keep them occupied; bands, sports, numerous educational programs and classes. Guards are really easy to get along with.

Our LO is there at Danville.  He was also at Menard and then Mt. Sterling (Western).  It seems that they have more educational opportunities at Danville, and the COs aren't as likely to be antagonistic as they were at Western.  Visiting was pleasant enough, as those things go.
